CHRIS COUTO
A proud Kingston native, Chris brings over 15 years of culinary expertise from Toronto back to his hometown. After graduating from the prestigious Culinary Management Program at George Brown College, Chris honed his craft with the renowned hospitality group Oliver & Bonacini. He began at the Toronto Board of Trade, quickly rising through the ranks to join the opening team at Malaparte (TIFF Bell Lightbox) and later taking on leadership roles at Arcadian Court, one of Toronto’s premier event venues. There, Chris advanced to Chef de Cuisine, mastering large-scale event execution and refining his signature style of elevated, memorable cuisine.

Returning to Malaparte as Chef de Cuisine, Chris leveraged his experience to create extraordinary dining experiences, blending precision with creativity. When the pandemic prompted a return to Kingston, Chris saw an opportunity to give back to the community that shaped him. He joined the Italo-Canadian Club of Kingston, introducing innovative weekly takeout menus and launching a popular line of frozen, chef-prepared meals for local families. For the past four years, he has led the kitchen as Chef de Cuisine, executing everything from corporate events and weddings to hands-on cooking classes, always delivering excellence with every plate.
Driven by a relentless commitment to quality and a passion for exceeding expectations, Chris launched Couto Catering – a business built on the belief that food should bring people together and every meal should be memorable.
